Autoimmune disorder that involves progressive weakness and decreased sensation in arms and legs due to damage to myelin sheath around the nerves. Similar to Guillain-Barre but more chronic rather than acute.

IVIG is used to provide antibodies to block immune and inflammatory processes that attack and destroy myelin.
